I threw up in my mouth last night....
...while watching Peter Popoff hawk his miracle mana to the droves of people dying to throw their shillings into his wide open coffers. Promising miracles of financial wealth without responsibility, and hurling canes and crutches across his conference stage, this spectacle is nothing more that a con tactic for money. One lady testified that she was in debt, but that didn't stop her from claiming a new car. She walked into the dealership with no credit, no money down, and walked away with a new car in the Lord! Given the current lending crisis, I would like an update on her blessing please.
here is a Wikipedia testimony about him: "A widely popular minister in the 1980s, he went bankrupt in 1987 after James Randi and Steve Shaw debunked his methods by showing that instead of receiving information about audience members from supernatural sources, he received it through his wife, via an in-ear receiver."
I am sad that there aren't laws to protect gullible people from charlatans like him. Given the absent mindedness of many who buy into his wishful thinking, a little common sense it seems would be in order. Or, perhaps, common sense is not so common. Hardly worth linking to him directly, but look how silly this picture is...
Definitely not missional!
